Every ten years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a count, mandated by the Constitution, of every person living in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories. Later this month, the U.S. Census Bureau will invite households from across the country to participate in the 2020 Census. Families will have the opportunity to respond to the various questions asked in the Census either online, by phone, or by mail. All responses are confidential.
Census data impacts the Federal funds that communities across the nation receive each year for programs and services that are critical for schools, students, and youth in our community. Specifically, Census data has an impact on funding for special education, Head Start, after school programs, technology, and our school nutrition program.
