In order for us to prepare for the second semester of this school year, we need to know if students will remain in either in-person or distance learning or if families want to switch their students from one setting to the other. This information will help us finalize student schedules, staff assignments, bus routes, and the many other operational decisions that we will need to make to prepare for the second half of this school year. Please take a moment to complete this brief survey to let us know what your student’s plans are for the second semester.
Please note that the choice you make will be BINDING. Since we are operating under different schedules for our elementary students and our students at GMS and GHS, the length of commitment for families will be different for each level. Factors related to minimizing the disruption to our students and families as well as staffing implications are additional reasons why the commitment is different for each level.
We want to avoid students and teachers going through another transition due to class roster changes. To minimize disruptions to students and staff, the ELEMENTARY family commitment will be binding through the duration of the second semester that ends on Wednesday, June 8.
Our team has been reflecting on the distance learning schedule we have been using for our elementary students this semester. There have been many strengths to our approach, however, we wanted to make some adjustments to make our plan even stronger. Here is the schedule we will be following for our distance learners during the second semester. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XrfpMUArMjxICDHQgUlX6rfyKzUQDHak–ABvfNzGP0/edit?usp=sharing
Due to the nature of how we are delivering instruction in grades 6-12, we are able to provide greater flexibility. For MIDDLE SCHOOL and HIGH SCHOOL families, your choice will be binding through the end of the third nine weeks that ends on Friday, March 19.
Please feel free to contact your child’s school or our central office at 804-556-5601 if you have any questions or need more information.
